When we are first starting out, we will talk about the creative inspiration for the piece. Do you have a specific image in mind? Is this a gift for someone special? We will talk about ideas for the art, colors, inspiration and more. We will walk through some examples of my previous artwork to agree on style and pull together example photos of a specific image if appropriate.

After we have agreed on a size, price, and due date I will create an inspiration board for the artwork to review with you before I start to work on the painting to make sure we are creating what you have in mind. This will include reference photos of my previous art for style, reference photos of your exact image if appropriate, key colors, and a rough sketch. If you agree or have any feedback this is when we will talk about overall style before I dig into the painting.

Then comes the fun painting part! We will agree on a timeline and before you know it your one of a kind painting will be ready to go to its new home!

In our initial meeting we will discuss size and subject based on your desired painting subject and where you might like to hang the piece in your home. Then I will provide you an exact quote. If you would like any add-ons like framing or prints, we can discuss that at any point in the process.

Small Size Tier

Examples: 5”x7”, 8”x10”, 12”x12”, 11”x14”

Price Range: $150-450

Medium Size Tier

Examples: 16”x20”, 20”x20”, 24”x24”

Price Range: $550-750

Large Size Tier

Examples: 36”x36”, 30”x40”, 24”x48”, 36”x48”

Price Range: $1,200-2,500

Timelines will vary based on artwork size and subject. When we talk through the piece, I will share an initial estimated timeline based on different sizes and when we agree on the exact size, we will align on a due date to best meet your needs!

50% of the payment is due upfront as a down payment, and the remaining 50% is due upon completion of the work but prior to or at the time of delivery.

Would you like a special quote painted in the initial layer of the painting that won’t be visible but you will know about it? Would you like a name scratched into a tree in the painting or maybe something small and meaningful like a cardinal included? We can work together to create something subtle but special in your commissioned painting.

Would you like a fine art reproduction copy of your original commission to keep for yourself? Or several reproductions to share with the family? I would be happy to work with you to create high quality limited reproductions of your special piece for a small fee.

Framing is not included. If you are interested in framing, I would love to discuss this option with you and complete framing or connect you with a local frame shop!

Oil paint is a vibrant, unique, medium. The paint contains pigment and oil. Special oils or spirits are used to modify the texture and thickness while painting. Oil paint is slow drying so the finished work can take 2-6 weeks to dry before it is ready to varnish, frame, and hang. The nature of oil paint means you will have a vibrant and long lasting work of art.

The artist retains the copyright to the original image unless otherwise agreed upon. This basically means that you can share the art, post on social media, etc. but that the artwork may not be used by the collector for reproduction. (example collector cannot make t-shirts and sell them or sell the design to a store for mass production)

If the client decides to terminate the agreement prior to receiving the work but after the painting is underway, artist will retain the 50% down payment and the semifinished work. Any special circumstances will be discussed on an individual basis.
